Student Research Initiative

Hands-on research for today’s real-world challenge

The student research initiatives enhances the student engineering experience and technical education by providing hands-on lab experience, publication in journals and travel to national conferences.

IARE students are highly encouraged to pursue a research project during their studies. They gain skills and abilities on focused themes and be attractive to future employers and higher studies.

With participation in Student Research Initiative, you can…

  • Contribute to the creation of new knowledge.
  • Develop relationships with faculty members (institute and abroad), and researchers.
  • Gain new knowledge outside of the classroom to help in the classroom.
  • Improve your oral and written communication skills.
  • Improve your critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Clarify your career goals and prepare for the next step after graduation.

IARE has twenty Research Initiative that bring together and represent the range of multidisciplinary research activities undertaken within it's three groups (High-Impact Projects, Technology Innovation and Product Support & Vertically Integrated Projects). Our research focuses on solutions to real-life problems across a range of industries.

High-Impact Projects (HIPs)

Engineering combines both theoretical and practical knowledge in a complex way. Projects serve as the crucial link between these two aspects, providing the essential balance needed in the corporate world.

Technology Innovation and Product Support (TIPS)

Predicting future innovation and its impact on society is always difficult, but here are some potential areas of innovation and their possible impact:

Vertically Integrated Projects (VIPs)

Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) involve design/discovery efforts involving students, researchers and faculty in their areas of expertise. VIP projects ambitious and long-term. Working together productively in a diverse team to find creative solutions to the problems or to make progress on a project is a key employability skill in the 21st century.
