The laboratories in department of Electronics and Communication Engineering are intended to give practical experience to the students. Laboratories are useful for students to implement the theory in practical aspects and helps student to apply their knowledge of theory for various courses of their course outcomes.

ECE is equipped with highly developed Air Conditioned hardware and software labs, that have superior quality and sophisticated equipment and trainer kits that allows students to design, implement and think beyond horizon.

ECE finds its application both in hardware and software these days. Most of the experiments are conducted using both hardware and software tools. All the laboratories are equipped with variety of software tools which are necessity of today’s industrial requirement.

The department has its own computer laboratory, possessing computers of Intel Pentium i3/i5 processors, connected over campus LAN with high speed Internet connection.

    PCB Design Centre

    This lab is designed to train the students on Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and incorporated in the curriculum with the intent of giving the students hands-on experience of designing and testing PCB. Apart from this, students come to know about fabrication techniques.

    Facilities:  MITS Eleven Lab Antenna/PCB proto typing Machine,Intel Dual Core CPU systems with 18" colour monitor.


    Analog Communication Lab

    This laboratory provides a platform to the students to understand the basics of analog communication systems, modulation techniques, data transmission, multiplexing.

    Digital Communication Lab

    In this lab, the students are intended to learnthe techniques that are involved digital communication systems like phase shift keying, frequency shift keying, etc. and to provide hands-on experience with the components and sub-systems of digital communications.

    Electronics Devices and Circuit Lab

    This lab mainly focuses on semiconductor device physics. The students get familiarized with the analysis and design of circuits by using semiconductor devices like diodes, transistors, FETs, SCRs, and UJTs.

    Electronic Circuits and Pulse Circuits Lab

    In this lab, the students are emphasized to design and analyse the electronic circuits as well as pulse digital circuits and are supposed to co-relate it theoretically. The students learn to obtain different parameters in the circuits.

    Basic Electrical and Electronics Engineering Lab

    In this lab, students get familiarized with the circuit and network analysis using basic components like RLCs. Students come to know to calculate voltage and current in basic circuits. They also verify Kirchhoff’slaws, Superposition theorem, Thevenin’s Theorem, and maximum power transfer Theorem in this course.

    Microwave Engineering Lab

    The laboratory is designed to get the exposure to various microwave components, microwave benches in this lab. This laboratory helps the students understand the basics of Microwave engineering and gives a detailed description of the working principle of microwave components.

    Digital Logic Design Lab

    This lab drives the students to emphasize on Nanoelectronics. This lab also develops keen interest in digital circuit designing. Prior to this designing part, students are supposed to analyse the digital logic families and design various circuits & systems by using these logic families.

    Embedded Systems Lab

    The primary objective of embedded system lab is to provide students thorough knowledge of real-time operating systems, real-time debugging, and embedded systems.

    Microprocessors and Microcontrollers Lab

    The microprocessor lab helps the students to gain a better understanding of 8086 microprocessors. Students are able to execute basic assembly language programs as well as interface ADC, DAC and stepper motor through various interface cards available in the lab.

    With the help of advanced fiber optic trainer kits available in the lab, students learn to design fiber optic link for short haul and long haul by choosing various parameters and components.

    Basic Simulation Lab

    Understanding of frequency and time domain analysis of linear dynamic systems and corresponding signals, finding the response of continuous- and discrete-time linear systems via simulation using MATLAB.

    Digital Image Processing Lab

    The objective of Digital Image Processing lab is to illustrate concepts in image processing and analysis through actual processing of images using MATLAB

    Digital Signal Processing Lab

    The Digital Signal Processing Lab is based on MATLAB tools which are used to evaluate the effectiveness of Fast Fourier Transform algorithms in Discrete Fourier Transform implementation. We can also do the analysis of digital filter design of Finite Impulse Response and Infinite Impulse Response filters.

    Digital System Design Using HDL Lab

    The purpose of Digital System Design laboratory is to make learn languages like Verilog and VHDL. VHDL is used in electronic design automation to describe digital and mixed-signal systems such as field-programmable gate arrays and integrated circuits. Verilog, standardized as IEEE 1364, is a hardware description language used to model electronic systems. It is most commonly used in the design and verification of digital circuits at the register-transfer level of abstraction.

    LabVIEW academy

    Analog and Digital CMOS IC Design Lab

    This lab provides an opportunity for the students to learn Cadence and Virtuoso tools for automatic placement and routing as well as Design Rule Checking. Analog and Digital CMOS circuits are designed using this tool.

    Project & Research Lab

    This Lab has provided a platform for students and research associates to implement research based projects under the guidance of faculty members. The facility has been utilized by B.Tech and M.Tech students extensively for their project and research work. The outcome of the project has resulted in publications in various journals and conference proceedings (both at national and international level). The centre has provided a learning platform for both students and faculty.
